Sewing and Growing for Two Baby Boys

It's been 4 weeks since we found out the gender of are growing little twins. We are SUPER EXCITED to be having 2 little boys! I know they will be best buds forever! Now that we know what we're having we can buckle down on getting the nursery finished.

I have been sewing and making burp cloths, receiving blankets, and matching baby boy quilts. I wish I could do more at a time, but my lovely back doesn't allow me to. The week of March 12-15, I went to Fredonia for a few days while Dusty was gone on a business trip. My Grandma Shanna, Mom, and Aunt Christie helped me get the blankets/quilts all tied/quilted while I was there. We got a lot accomplished in those 3 days.

We also got their crib bedding and I LOVE it!! I'm so excited for when the time comes to set it all up and have it ready for our baby boys!

BABY NAMES! ...we have them picked out! Baby 'A's name is Paxtin DeMille Mackelprang and Baby 'B's name is Channing Oliver Mackelprang (no...not after Channing Tatum)! The name 'DeMille' has a duel purpose. It was Dusty's great-grandpa's name, as well as Dusty's brothers middle name (who has always been Dusty's best friend -- a relationship which we hope our baby boys will have with each other). The name Oliver also has a special meaning as it was my great-grandpa Kimball's name. What a blessing it will be to have our baby boys named after their great-great grandpas!!

Today, March 21, 2013, was our 20 week check up and ultrasound. This was the long ultrasound where they measure the babies heads, legs, stomach, heart, and other parts to make sure they are growing at the right rate and everything is looking/growing normal. They also checked for 'markers' of any abnormalities/deformities such as hair lip, down syndrome, heart defects, etc. and both babies looked healthy!

Both babies are measuring about 14 ounces, which means they are measuring a bit big for 20 weeks. Their heart rates were both strong, and they are active little guys. It's amazing how much they grow and change in just 4 weeks.

The doctor told me he wants me back in four weeks for another ultrasound, and then from that point...every two weeks until my due date gets closer. We will keep you updated as we continue to learn and grow in "A Mackelprang Story!"
