Up until now, I have gotten an ultrasound once a month. Then the plan has been, at 24 weeks, to start getting them every other week until I get closer to delivery...plans change!
It has been 4 weeks since we got to see our amazing baby boys, so today we got to see them at our 24 week appointment. We went in for an ultrasound and the ultrasound tech, Bobbi, measured the babies and they are growing and getting more and more squished. They both measure about 1 pound 10 ounces (or as my mom, Sonya, would put it, they are 26 ounces.. hence the post title). Both heart rates are strong and normal (Channing's was a lot slower today than it has been, but it was still in normal range). Paxtin right now is head down and his feet are on my left side. Channing's feet are also on my left side, so in the ultrasound today you could see 4 perfect little feet all together. Poor Channing is already getting a beating from his brother. Paxtin's bum sits right on Channing's head. On the ultrasound we could see Channing protecting his face from being sat on by his brother. The ultrasound went great and both babies have almost doubled in size since our last ultrasound. They are in the 53rd percentile.
My weight and blood pressure are normal, I've almost gained 20 lbs now. I guess that's suppose to happen when you're pregnant with two growing boys. :-) However, the rest of my check up didn't go as well as I had planned/hoped for. I was discussing with the doctor about all the contractions and cramping I have been having lately. I have contractions ALL the time, but they are spaced out and sporadic and not accompanied with any spotting, so I never worried. He had us go back in with Bobbi so she could check my cervix with the ultrasound. Those results have now landed me on partial bed rest and weekly doctor visits. At 24 weeks my cervix should be at 3 cm but mine is around 2.9 cm which is 1 mm short of where I should be. That doesn't seem like a lot, but 1 millimeter in pregnancy is kind of a big deal. They will continue to check my cervix weekly to make sure it doesn't change, at least for now until I get further along.
I have been pretty upset since I got home after receiving this news, but I guess it could be worse. I'm just grateful that I don't have to worry about work/job so I can rest and take it easy. Plus, I have an amazing husband who takes great care of me all the time!
Now here are some pictures from today...
Paxtin had his hands by his face the whole time until she went to check my cervix. Then he had them in the way of my cervix, so she hurry and snapped this one of him while his hands were down. I love it!

This is the only one we got of Channing today. :-( He was such a wiggler that she couldn't get a good 3D shot of him.
