Twinfferences

"If you think my hands are full, you should see my heart!"

Everyday I wake up and have the honor of caring for my 2 little boys. They make each day a new adventure. As they get older the adventures get bigger and so do the messes. They can destroy a room in .5 seconds flat. Whenever I see a room that they've decided to remodel a song from "Lonestar" (I'm sure other artists sing it too) comes to mind, and the chorus in the song just fills my heart with joy!

"Let them be little, cause they're only that way for a while.
Give them hope, give them praise, give them love everyday.
Let them cry, let them giggle, let them sleep in the middle.
Let them be little."

These 2 little guys are just living their life being "little" and being kids. I know one day I am going to look back and want the finger prints all of the glass/screen door, I'm going to want my mixing bowls scattered all of the kitchen, and I'm going to want little toys in random places. So right now, my busy bees are being little boys and having a ball doing it.

The twins recently had their one year check up, yes we were a few months behind due to other circumstances, but they are up to date now on all their vaccines and their wellness checks.

Many people stop us in the store and ask us questions about our boys. People see twins and they think they have to ask you every question possible, but one question we hear a lot is: Are they alike? Do they like the same things?

Paxtin and Channing are like night and day. They are fraternal twins so they are different in appearance, smiles, personalities, anything you can think of, they are different. They even have their own waves. I wanted to write this post to share with you updates on the boys and share with you their "twinfferences".

Paxtin- Paxtin currently weighs 25.8 lbs (with shoes on) and is 32.5" long. He is on his feet ALL the time. He likes to take a cell phone, remote, or anything he knows that he's not suppose to have and will run to his room with it to hide. He LOVES his blankie and "wubby" (binkie with animal attached), he always has his wubby in his mouth while dragging his blanket around. They are his soothers. Paxtin has learned to throw stuff away, and 99.9% of the time he throws away stuff that I'm not ready to have disposed. He also knows when you're fixing dinner or getting ready to eat because he will stand at your feet, looking up, and yelling at you that he wants some too. He says "momma", "da-da", "uh-uh-uh" while shaking his head, and says "Ba-bye" while waving. He plays Patty-Cake and will clap and mark it with a "P". He waves "bye-bye" and holds his hands up when something is "all-gone". He can show you where his nose is and he will show you where your nose is too. He also gives the sweetest kisses. Paxtin devours his food, and I mean devours it. He eats like his daddy. Paxtin has 10 teeth and is working on getting more. He also has very curly hair, they are super tight curls when it's not a matted mess from bedtime/naptime (we recently had to buy detangler spray to get a comb through his hair). He loves to inspect your mouth/teeth, I think we have a future dentist on our hands. He also loves to pack around the spoons and utensils from their play kitchen. Paxtin LOVES to play with his brother. They play so well together and that makes my heart even fuller.

Channing- Channing currently weighs 25.2 lbs (with no shoes on) and is 33" long. He still likes to get around on his hands and knees. He will sometimes use his walker or high chair to get around on his feet. Yes, you read that right, I said "highchair", he pushes that huge thing up and down the hallway, but if it's getting him to walk...GREAT! He will stand until he realizes he is not holding onto something and will immediately sit down. He could walk and stand alone if he wasn't a chicken to let go, but he still likes the comfort of holding on. Channing loves to wave "bye-bye" and he recently started clapping. We work with Channing on learning where his nose is or to "throw it in the oven" but he just does his own thing. He waves and claps. He's still such an easy-going little guy and is content with the smallest things. He loves to look at books and spin the tires on his toy trucks. He can crawl extremely fast, especially if he's excited. He is usually the instigator at digging out my mixing bowls and lids and scatters them all of the kitchen. Channing, like me, eats slow and enjoys his food. He loves listening to songs and being sang to. He also loves you to dance with him. Channing loves to give more aggressive kisses, but he'll give you one every time you ask. He also has a new face he does, he puckers up/duck face and it's seriously the cutest thing! Channing has 14 teeth, and is a champ about teething. He whines very little about everything. He loves bath time and watches the tub fill with water as he waits to get in. He says "momma" but his favorite thing to say is "da-da". We also found out at Channing's wellness check that his head is still growing more than it should be. The doctor is concerned and wants to do a CT Scan on it to see if there is a cause for the continuing growth of his head. Chan man can't seem to catch a break, but yet he doesn't whine or fuss, he's a champ with it all. I love my little man.

As you can clearly see that twins are not the same. I love them having their own features and personalities, it makes life more fun and exciting. Dusty and I have been truly blessed to have our boys, I couldn't imagine our life without them. They continue to amaze us as they learn and grow. As they do learn and grow we also continue to learn more of their "twinfferences"!
